MUSINGS OF AN MVP

  Moments My mom said something interesting about me a few months ago. She said that I am good at starting over. I chuckled at the irony. Truth be told, I've often felt stuck, navigating the treacherous waters of procrastination and comparison. Even as I made progress towards my goals, these currents led to decisions and actions that I've had to face. I am grateful for the moments I conquered them and ended up in impactful and sustainable spaces.    The part of me that yearned to wait for the perfect moment or the right words to share was in constant conflict with the desire to just do so. It took a while. Here I am now. Ready(?) and willing to talk about my work/life, like I mentioned in  my first blog post . Sooner or later, you have to push to start. If you're a new reader, hello. There is no work of art created in isolation. Every artistic work ever created by a group or individual  was inspired by     relationships, culture  , systems, people, scripture, emotion and life itself . Every creative has a unique story telling method and motivation, yet we share inspiration . Even the tools used to express ourselves are not of our own invention. Some of my favourite artists are constantly learning from experienced creatives in their field. Others get their inspiration from artists that are their opposites  and end up having even more  innovative creations . In the simplest terms, if you want to inspire, be inspired too. One thing I have appreciated about the creative process is the need for collaboration. Kingdom of eSwatini flag Travel is more than a hobby or a luxury for me, it is a fully emotional and sensory experience that brings me a lot of peace and joy. The thought of going to a new destination, whether it is by foot, road, train or plane to observe and take part in the life there excites me and the tiny adult living inside in me lights up if some of these travels are professional trips. Earlier this year, I had the privilege of getting one such a gig in the beautiful Kingdom of eSwatini, or for the uncultured, the country  formerly known as  Swaziland. For three and a half months I got to work at the best festival on the continent,  MTN Bushfire  as an Artist Liaison Assistant HOD for the 13th edition of the festival.
